Seyaj calls on judicial authorities in Houthi-controlled areas to take the necessary legal measures against the murderer of 11-year-old Asim Muhammad Hashem in Al-Ta’aziah district, Al-Jundiyya district.
The suspect, Ammar Muhammad Ali Al-Sururi, is an affiliate of the Houthis in the directorate. On August 20, 2020, the perpetrator came to the wedding in a civilian car and a military kit to intimidate the wedding guests.
Witnesses told Seyaj that the accused started pointing the weapon at the wedding tent and shooting. One of the bullets hit the heart of the child victim, killing him.
According to preliminary information, concerned authorities in the directorate have arrested the accused. Unfortunately, as the father of the child victim suffered from a psychological condition before the incident, no one is available to push the case and procedures are at a standstill.
