The Convention on the Rights of the Child stipulates four basic principles for every child:
1- Non-discrimination: All children shall enjoy their basic and best rights without discrimination based on race, gender, national origin, religion, disability, color, ethnicity, or other characteristics.
2- Prioritizing the child’s best interests in all decisions involving them.
3- The right to life: the obligation of States Parties to ensure, to the fullest extent possible, the survival and development of the child.
4- The right to express an opinion: Every child has the right to express their opinions freely in all matters affecting them, and their opinions must be given the weight they deserve.
