Children’s rights are a subset of human rights with particular attention to the rights of special protection from violence, exploitation, neglect, and abuse.
The characteristics of children’s rights can be articulated in the following axes:
• The right to live with their parents.
• The right to human identity.
• The right to basic needs, such as physical protection and food.
• The right to state-funded education.
• The right to healthcare.
• Implementation of criminal laws appropriate to a child’s age and development.
• Non-discrimination against any child based on race, sex, origin, religion, disability, color, ethnicity, or other characteristics.
