Ali Al-Ghala, the father of the child Asmaa, pledged not to marry off his 12-year-old daughter until she reaches the legal age, following the efforts of the Seyaj Organization and the Security Cooperation of Wesab Al-Safel District in Al-Hodeida Governorate.
Asmaa’s father and her prospective spouse also vowed not to hinder her from pursuing her studies.
Wesab Police Director, Muhammad Musaad Al-Mowkli, said that Asmaa’s father was putting the marriage procedures on hold until Asma reached the legal age, stressing that should this pledge be violated, the parties would be subject to legal procedures.
