Seyaj Organization sends a humanitarian appeal to the Yemeni government and emergency humanitarian relief organizations to take immediate action to save hundreds of families on the Tehama coast, south of Al Hudaydah Governorate.
Seyaj calls on both the Arab Coalition and the Houthi group to rescue civilians who are still trapped in villages in Al-Durayhimi district and deliver life-saving aid to all war-affected civilians.
The preliminary information available indicates that about 50 families displaced from the villages of Taif, Ghalifqa, and Manzhar to the desert west of Beit al-Faqih, suffer from extremely poor humanitarian conditions. Meanwhile, hundreds more families are hosted by impoverished households that are unable to provide food and water for their members.
Hundreds of families are trapped in villages and could not relocate or move due to their proximity to confrontation areas contaminated with anti-personnel mines, thousands of which were randomly planted in large areas of farms, houses, and roads.
Seyaj sources in the area say that the displaced have not received any aid since their displacement during the month of Ramadan. They are in dire need of food, drinking water, tents, and medicine.
The sources confirm that mines and explosive traps have been planted in the homes and farms of the displaced, and that merely returning to those homes represents a mortal danger to them.
Seyaj warns of the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the districts of Al-Durayhimi, Manzhar, and parts of Beit Al-Faqih, Al-Hussainiya, Al-Tuhayta, and other districts on the Tihami coast.
Seyaj calls on the local authority and relief organizations to take urgent action to save civilians in the Tehama villages.
