SEYAJ ORGANIZATION FOR CHILDHOOD PROTECTION
is a Yemeni, independent, non-governmental, and nonprofit civil society organization. It specializes in promoting and protecting the basic and innate rights of children under national laws and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It was established on August 5, 2008, with a license from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
Seyaj focuses its efforts on impoverished communities, as well as those affected by armed conflicts and natural catastrophes. It serves children, particularly those who are victims of violence, exploitation, neglect, or ill-treatment, through direct coordination with relevant governmental institutions, networking with national and international non-governmental organizations, and a network of trained volunteers across the Republic.
Seyaj’s volunteers specialize in various work fields that aim to directly benefit children, and the organization is a member of many national and international protection networks.
“Seyaj” is an Arabic word meaning the impenetrable wall.
